Black lives matter. Bandaics™ (bandage mosaics)

This series of portraits honors the champions of the Black Lives Matter movement and past civil rights activists.

These bandaics (bandage mosaics) symbolize the pain and suffering this population has endured and what little has been done to end this scourge.

Glaser’s connection to this narrative is personal. Born in Newark, New Jersey, he was 14 during the 1967 riots and witnessed horrific acts of violence. These atrocities left and indelible mark. In recent years, the hate crimes fueled by racism have brought these memories back to the surface. These portraits are an outlet and a way to pay homage to these individuals and the legacies they have left with us.
